Pam Gosal was born in Glasgow and has lived the majority of her life in Scotland. Married with two sons, she is a Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party MSP for the West Scotland. Pam is the first Indian Sikh MSP in the Scottish Parliament. Pam has built up a wealth of knowledge and experience over thirty years across all aspects of public, private and voluntary sectors including economic development, inward investment, business, cultural, legal, and regulatory policies both in Scotland and England. Pam has been instrumental through her previous senior public sector role in supporting businesses and delivering significant inward investment projects resulting in retaining and creating thousands of jobs. From her early teenage years, she has learned the value of entrepreneurism from her late father and understands the importance of creating an environment to let ambition and aspiration thrive. Pam believes that you should never stop learning; and therefore, places great importance to furthering her own education by completing an BA in Consumer Law then an MBA in 2011 and is currently finishing her PhD.
Pam was awarded an MBE in the King’s New Year Honours List 2024 for her services to business, racial equality and charity.
Pam is a great advocate for supporting women and is extremely proud to have won the Women Leaders Business Award 2015 and the Public Service Award 2018. Pam works with the Scottish Conservative Women’s Organisation to support and promote women in politics as well as having a voice on key issues that matter to the people of Scotland. She is a great believer in giving back to the community and strongly believes she will be able to make a difference through her political career as a Scottish Conservative and Unionist advocate for British, Scottish and Indian women.
