MSP for North East Scotland (Region).
Maurice was first elected in May 2016. Maurice sits on the Public Affairs and Petitions Committee.
Maurice has held several Shadow Cabinet positions, including serving as Chief Whip to Ruth Davidson and Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Environment, Climate Change and Land Reform.
He is at the forefront of key issues, such as introducing a new bill to tackle dog theft, improving animal welfare standards, calling for a moratorium on new incinerators, and building a more sustainable economy as we move to net zero.
Maurice has fifteen years’ experience working in the waste and energy sectors previously working for Ofgem, Consumer Focus and Zero Waste Scotland where he led the Circular Economy Programme. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce, an Associate Member of the British Veterinary Association and a Chartered Waste Manager.
