Jackson is the Constituency MSP for Eastwood, where he was born and has lived most of his life, winning the seat in 2016 after 9 years as an MSP for the West of Scotland.
Prior to his election, Jackson spent 25 years in the Scottish Retail Motor Industry & some time in the independent education sector.
In 2025, Jackson will have been active in the Scottish Conservative Party for 50 years, having served in various elected offices under every Prime Minister & Leader since Margaret Thatcher. He was first elected National Scottish Young Conservative Chair in 1984 and has since served as Deputy Chairman of the Party under John Major, William Hague & again under Michael Howard & David Cameron, Deputy Leader for 8 years to Ruth Davidson and then as Interim, Acting and ultimately Leader of the Party.
He is currently the Convener of the Citizen’s Participation & Public Petitions Committee and a member of the Scottish Parliament Corporate Body, the board which oversees the estate & running of Holyrood.
