Since being elected as MP for Gordon & Buchan in July 2024, Harriet has been representing her constituency and constituents with both individual pieces of casework and more broadly standing up and advocating for key local sectors – in particular the Oil & Gas industry and agriculture. A Chartered Rural Surveyor prior to being elected and having grown up in remote and rural locations in both Ireland and Aberdeenshire, Harriet is determined to ensure the rural communities in her constituency are not left behind, forgotten or disadvantages by the SNP Government at Holyrood and Labour Government at Westminster. Whether the devastating Family Farm Tax, hikes in employers National Insurance, removing Winter Fuel Payments, attacks on the Oil & Gas industry, the industrialisation of our landscape with plyons and substations or the continued betrayal of the North East from broken promises on the A96 road, Harriet is focused on holding both governments to account for the impact of their policy choices on her constituency.
