Member of the Scottish Parliament (Glasgow Region)
Annie Wells became actively involved in politics in 2014, campaigning to keep Scotland in the United Kingdom during the independence referendum that year.
Following the vote, she stood for election an as MSP after being encouraged by Ruth Davidson. She was elected in 2016 to the Scottish Parliament.
She previously served on the Local Government Housing and Planning Committee from 31 March 2022 to 29 June 2023, and was Deputy Party Leader from 18 February 2020 to 11 August 2020.
Annie currently holds the post of Shadow Minister for Drugs, Alcohol and Women’s Health.
She spent most of her professional career working at Marks and Spencer while also raising her son in the same neighbourhood in Glasgow where she was born and still lives.
